8 months old in a new company

I haven’t been updating my blog for a while. I guess this require some sort of patience and mood to do so huh?

It’s been 8 months since I join my current company and I love the atmosphere so much. The energy level is so high that sometimes I can’t take it.

However,
people who know me well enough will know that I don’t really stay long in a particular company.

No one knows what’s gonna happen next.

:)

Take a step back

Andy is in the mode of taking a step back and focusing on one thing at a time.. Been trying to carry too many things at a go. Now my hands are full and my nose is itchy.  How?

Too much of thoughts

Have you ever at a point of time, in that particular moment, whereby you are thinking of so much things …and you just wish to bang your head on the wall?

Just ranting…

If I could.

Let me start this blog with a very childish question.

If you could travel back in time,
When was that?
Where were you then?
Who are you with?
what are you doing
why do you chose that particular moment?

Pictures are worth a thousand word

I really miss you a lot mum.
I love you.

China have decided to ban smoking… in kindergarten.

Extracted from China Real Time Report
When 3-year-old Yawen of Huizhou, Guangzhou province, goes to kindergarten next year, she’ll have to leave her cigarettes at home.

The heavily addicted pre-pre-pre-teen, who has drawn international concern, will run up against a strict school smoking ban, issued jointly this week by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. The ban covers public schools, most areas in colleges, and even kindergartens and nurseries, reported a China Daily online article.

The move is the first major development in China’s smoking saga since an announcement in May that smoking would be prohibited on public transit, in the workplace and at public venues before the year was out.

At the time, China Real Time cast doubt on the country’s ability to make good on its grandiose 2006 promise to the World Health Organization to end public smoking by 2011.

The school smoking ban is a step forward, but the Ministry of Health is still a long way from its goal. China has more smokers than the United States has citizens.

China has an entrenched smoking culture, especially among men. A stunning 41% of Chinese male physicians smoke, according to a study published in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine in 2007.

Among Chinese businessmen, the friendly thing to do upon meeting someone is to offer him a cigarette.

Health officials are looking to other aspects of the culture for support. The new school ban instructs teachers, highly respected figures in much of China, to help their students quit smoking.

Elementary and middle school teachers are also not allowed to let students see them smoking, because they are such role models for the students, according to a recent online China Daily article.

– Christopher Carothers

I didn’t know that previously they allow the kids to smoke in the school. Trying to imagine the scene whereby the kids just light up during recess time. OMG.

Or
do they do it in the yellow box?

Thank you stranger.

Isn’t it amazing how a stranger, unknowingly manage to brighten up your day?

Not going into details, Andy was feeling very moody an hour ago before I met this stranger. I was at the bustop still in daze, when he asked, “Excuse me, did bus 969 left already?”
I looked up and saw Mr Trendy who appears to be around my age, with streaks of highlighted hair and wearing a pair of white funky spectacles.
As much as I don’t wish to open my mouth and muttered a single word, eventually I did.

He begin to ask me questions.
LOTS OF QUESTIONS.
“Are you still in the army? or are you waiting for enlistment?”

-_-`

“I am 28.”

And that’s how it all begin.

Being a very skeptical and moody Singaporean, I decided to brace myself and start engaging in a conversation with him. He told me funny and weird stuffs. About how his friend’s mum tie him to the bed just to stop his friend from smoking. About how his classmates pocket money is $3000 per month. About how his colleagues love Friday, because it is TGIF.

You might find it weird.
But I don’t.

I kind of appreciate it in fact.
Appreciate the fact that in the middle of the night, a stranger out there is cheering me up unknowingly. If I want to, I could have just cut him off and go back to being a SMS*. (Somehow, I am born with this talent to shut people up)
Luckily, I did not.

Thank you Bronson. You have just brighten up my day. Someday down the road If we ever meet again, you will received the “straight outta the toothpaste Darlie smile” from me.
